Concierge Service

The UC KIZ Executive Director assists start-up companies and about-to-launch entrepreneurs in finding the right resources for funding, business expertise, and legal assistance for intellectual property, contracts, and other start-up company issues. This service is provided free of charge via telephone or in-person meetings on an “as needed” basis.

Educational Programming

The following in-house programs are hosted by the UC KIZ with support from the University City Science Center and are open to all companies located with in the Science Center and University City KIZ.

Lunch for Hungry minds (LFHM):

The monthly LFHM is a research-oriented speaker series where UC KIZ and the University City Science Center invite speakers from regional research organizations who lecture about their research giving UC KIZ companies insight into the latestv scientific trends.

Smart Talk

Smart Talk is a quarterly seminar series offering practical business insight to early-stage companies.  This series will offer topics ranging from available tax credits and incentives for small companies to building brand identity. 

Quarterly CLE credit Panel Discussions

Partnering with Exponent and Saul Ewing, the UC KIZ will host quarterly CLE credit panel discussions with an emphasis on timely and relevant issues concering the medical device industry.  Invited panel members will range from representatives at the District Attorney's Office, the FDA, researchers, and investigators. 

Entrepreneurial Pitch events

The UC KIZ will co-sponsor and host a number of pitch events for entrepreneurs and startup companies.  These events will range from formal presentations to informal pitch  opportunities in a tradeshow-like setting.

       Life Science Directory

Working with Select Greater Philadelphia, BioAdvance, and other groups in the region, have created an on-line directory of life sciences resources and service providers. This searchable directory of life sciences companies, associations, service providers, and funding sources provides entrepreneurs with comprehensive access to information about start-up company resources in the Greater Philadelphia community. In addition, the resource guide demonstrates the richness of our region's life sciences community to others  across the US and around the world.   Visit www.look4science.com.
